About Us

Neighbor Fire Lab exists to make outdoor fires easy on guests and neighbors—and easier on you. We blend instrumented testing with code-aware guidance so you can host cozy, complaint-free evenings in small or shared spaces. If you’ve ever worried about smoke drift, deck safety, or HOA rules, you’re in the right place.

Mission Statement Our mission is to help people choose and use outdoor fire pits that are measurably low-smoke, safe on real decks and patios, and stylish enough to belong with modern outdoor furniture—backed by transparent data anyone can understand and share.

Brand Story Neighbor Fire Lab started after one too many “sorry about the smoke” texts. We loved gathering around a fire, but not the stingy eyes, lingering smell, or worry about composite deck temperatures and local codes. So we built a repeatable testing workflow and began publishing the numbers we wished existed: particle counts at seating height, deck surface temps under real burners, wind impact on heat radius, and what it actually costs per hour to run each setup. The goal wasn’t to crown the loudest or trendiest pit—it was to identify neighbor-friendly options that deliver warmth, ambiance, and peace of mind in small spaces.

Today our work spans fire bowls, fire tables, chimineas, portable/camping units, and accessories. Each recommendation is grounded in measurements, code-aligned checklists, and practical hosting playbooks. We prioritize safety, low smoke, and stylish usability over hype, so you can enjoy the glow without the stress.

Our Team We’re a small, specialized crew that reflects how people really use fire pits at home and on the go.

  • The Safety Engineer: Designs protocols, verifies clearances, monitors deck, siding, and eave temperatures, and validates ember containment.
  • The Code Researcher: Tracks city ordinances, HOA rules, fuel restrictions, burn bans, and AQI alerts to build pass/fail checklists by setting (balcony, composite deck, pergola, small patio).
  • The Field Tester: Runs side-by-side sessions across fuels, maps heat at seating positions, times ignition/shutdown, and measures cleanup.
  • The Design & Small-Space Lead: Evaluates footprint, aesthetics, tank/hoses concealment, noise levels, and storage practicality for compact patios and balconies.

What We Stand For

  • Transparent measurement over marketing claims
  • Neighbor-first comfort and safety
  • Clear, code-conscious recommendations by surface and setting
  • Durable, climate-ready choices with predictable warmth and low hassle

If you need a shortlist you can defend to a skeptical neighbor or HOA board, we’re here for you—with numbers, not noise.
